Geek Street Fair hosted by Google takes places 28th May 12-6pm in Gansevoort Plaza, the Meatpacking District. 

It's aims to inspire all ages and highlight public businesses are things I strongly support. With a multitude of activities and tasty treats provided for all diets there will be plentiful to keep all ages occupied. Why not get geeky at Gansevoort with Google?!

Max Brenner Could it get any better?!

What is the perfect way to end a Sunday? 

Going to a famous chocolate restaurant with good friends is definitely up there with the best! 

Best known for it's chocolatey deserts, Max Brenner, situated in Union Square, New York, also provides a mouthwatering menu consisting of burgers and the like. 

But we went with the intention of filling up purely on the milky delight. 

As a Brit I have to admit I am not a fan of American chocolate, however Max Brenner's was not far from fantastic! 

I decided on a white chocolate chai tea and then our group of 7 shared a superb selection of fondue! 

The teapot itself - ingenuiTEA- is a brilliant thing (that I am investing in,)... But it's contents was out of this world. 

As for the fondue, well it was fun, fresh and fabulous. It is very difficult to express the amazement our international group of

Girls gazed at the table with, but what we saw did not disappoint the taste buds!

Our only issue was the wait for a table despite pre booking .. Oh and the heat in the place... But they are both small sticklers that can be put down to the popularity of the place! And my gosh the wait was worth it!

Classics are admired for a reason

 I am ashamed to say that this evening I was forced to watch the 2005 film adaption of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I am ashamed at my ignorance and reluctance, because this was perhaps the most beautiful film I have ever watched. 

I am not one for sitting still and watching television, however I did not once contemplate the time or the duration left of the film. 

Despite loving literature, I am affraid I have never read any books by Jane Austen. Now I intend to read at least all of her classics! 

Thank you to The Webster Apartments for providing another fabulous movie night that moved me greatly!

China Treat

Museums and sunshine don't often go together. However this weekend my internship kindly treated the interns to a visit to the Met Museum to see the China: Through the Looking Glass exhibition. It seemed a shame to be venturing inside on such a lovely day, but my goodness it was worth it! 

I know I quite regularly say that things inspire me, which is undoubtably due to my creative tendencies, but I have never been so moved by an exhibit in my life. 

Beautiful couture garments filled a magically mysterious interior. These magnificently crafted designs were also surrounded by their inspirations from throughout the history of the beautiful Chinese culture. 

There is no question whether I will be returning to this particular installation; perhaps once or even twice more in order to sketch and arrange the inspirational thoughts that dominated my brain! 

I would advise a morning visit due to the popularity of the exhibit. But it is definitely worth seeing, even with the crowds and whether you are artistic or otherwise!  

To top off my fabulous Sunday afternoon, I had a lovely stroll home through Central Park in the sun! Bliss!

Coffee Culture

So I have drank A LOT of coffee since I've been in NYC. I have tried some of the best and worst of the City's caffeine, and I think I have finally found my favourite. Ironically, super close to both my work and accommodation, I have only just stumbled across this quaint cafe: Culture 36. The fact that it is independent and locally owned is a bonus in this dominantly chain filled area of New York!

With a sister shop, Culture Espresso two streets down on 38th, this West 36th Street wonder is definitely where I will be getting my lunchtime treat from now on!

A Book of Walls

You are never too old of a bit of colouring in! Many tease this is the content of my Bachelors course… and in this case I will refrain from commenting!

Creativity is something that human kind needs to regularly exercise in order for the continuation of an interesting and developing world. The problem with our species is that we worry too much of what others think of us. I have, at times, been a prime example of this 

unfortunately, however this is something we all need to change. Creative expression is good for you! As I stress in many of my posts, inspiration is often found in everyday life.

A friend of mine who is also n fashion asked me to aid her in her research process by adding an entry to her book. To my delight this book was different from most sketchbooks: each double page spread was comprised of an image of a wall. Who knew that there could be such a diverse array of walls! It was very difficult to choose which one I was to make my mark on! I had great fun forgetting troubles and focusing on filling what was in front of me! 

There are a variety of these books available widely. They are a great way to record moments in life, or even those whom are close to you at these times!

Weekend in Washington

What was I expecting? Honestly I do not know, but it most certainly wasn’t what I was welcomed with! The only way I can describe this spectacular city is like Wisteria Drive from Desperate Housewives, minus the housewives! Almost too perfect, the silence was almost scary…coming from New York I felt as though I had gone deaf! To me this weekend acted as a welcome retreat from the chaos of the city that never sleeps, although a lot of walking did take place.

Most of the main monuments are within walking distance of one-another and all very touching. I recommend a visit to them all both in the daylight and in the dark when the moonbeams bring forth and emphasise the historic importance of each. 

If there is a place to experience College life, DC definitely has to be a contender with a large student population there are a multitude of activities to try for a variety of budgets including some fabulous food focused favourites!

Recalling the past weekend now, it still feels like a dream because of place’s peculiar perfection. Time passes quickly quite often, but here the days raced exceptionally rapidly!

This has to be on everyone’s bucket list of places to visit in a lifetime.
