Illustrative Mood

Sometimes fashion illustrations are used to describe the mood of the trend/ clothing, with hints of the season and target market description in there, as opposed to a perfect replica of the garment/s. To be a fashion illustration the image doesn't need to be hand drawn, CAD ( Computer Aided Design) is becoming more and more popular and can create some amazing effects... sometimes the illustration will be done digitally but look hand drawn!

Kelly Thompson is one of my favourite illustrators. She uses a variety of media to create some really artistic  pieces! Some have called them 'weird' but I personally think they are amazing, and they do the job - attracting attention through her creative ways!

KENZO can create them

Perhaps the most adored fashion book in the arts school's library, KENZO's feminine fashion is flaunted in a book of pure beauty. For anyone interested in fashion, textiles, art or just all things stunning this book is certainly worth looking at, if not to read due to it's effective visual communication presentation.

POW platforms

Today I came across some shoes which actually made me speechless! According to the owner of the shoes in this street style shot they were from last spring/ summer's ASOS shoe stock. A buy which I am very jealous of. These shoes are not just striking but incredibly stylish and will be for the next few seasons!

Fringe From the Face to Fashion For Fall

The past few weeks have been very exciting for fashion following fans,  with the Autumn/Winter shows showcased in the fashion capitals of the world. Reviewing some of my favourite collections from the catwalks there is a definite fringe fetish that can be detected!

Fringing in the most fantastic, decorative, and luxurious sense filled Gucci's gallant show.

Dries Van Noten appeared to have been greatly inspired by the tassells of the twenties Jazz period.

Alexi Mabille took a more subtler approach using fringing subtly with connotations to Cowboys and Indians.

Watch this trend trickle down on to the high-street and try out your favourite way of flaunting fringing to be at the fashion forefront for fall!

Express yourself with the NEW orient style this Spring/Summer

OK, so Orient, in particular Japanese style has been extremely influential to fashion trends for quite a few seasons now... But this time its different! Structure. That is the  key element for this trend this season. Prada proved this perfectly:

With 'Zoo' being another trend expected to delight the shops with its presents this season why not tackle two trends in one and create an oriental animal of a garment?!
