ST-ART Warhol

ST-Art young people's art charity is doing a number of workshops this summer. I had the pleasure of helping with the Warhol collage style workshop the other day.
A frame was then created from extreamly tightly rolled newspaper (using a special craft machine). These roles are so sturdy they can hold a person when made into a chair!

This is one of the final results, the subject a Lego evil fighter.

Even I learnt new techniques from this class!

The Red Tent This Summer

Why not slip away from reality by indulging in a good book? A different book perhaps: not the usual popular novels.
I was proven wrong by my mother who insisted I'd love a book set far far into the past. The Red Tent took a little getting into, mainly because I was skeptical that I would like it. But 30 pages in I was hooked.
Now finished I can honestly say it's the best book I've ever read and would recommend it I any woman!

Friday Fashion Favourite

My favourite fashion post so far this morning has to be that of Vogue.
Fitting for the forcasts of both weather and fashion, pand presented in a catchy way, is what blogging is all about!

I'm absolutely in love with Alberta Ferreti's design, from the colour, to the print to the cut.
Styled with those "fly"glasses ties the colours together and identifies the summer season whatever the weather.

Inside out

A little weird I guess, but I was very impressed by the attention to detail on this lovely drink's bottle.
I always feel that the lining and finishings on a garment is what makes it and displays the quality.
The berry pattern on this inside label further excentuates the natural qualities of the product and it's ethos.
Plus the contents of the bottle tastes great and refreshing!

Paper made of silver

So I have a new paper supply... Not from a shop: but from my garden.
The Silver Birch is a special type of birch and is know for shedding it's outer layers of bark.
Incredibly satisfying to peel... Although it does shed naturally.
Get a good strip and a beautifully delicate and different form of pallet is ready to use.

Fried Egg Plant Pant

I've heard of an egg plant before but never thought a poppy like this existed!

Fashion inspiration? Well the centre definitely looks like a Pom Pom!
A good friend of mine also has a fried egg jumper, which I must say is ace!
I love the colors of this flower and can totally see this as a summer white, light cotton trouser, with yellow belt /pannel.

The Deep Blue Ocean of Influences

I was given this beautiful gift last weekend. As the first piece of jewellery my boyfriend has bought for me, I must say he did very well!
The spectacular, smooth sea stone is royal blue in shade, one of my favourite clothing colours.
The jewellery is also very appropriate for the up and coming trends of the next few seasons.
Next summer sees Latino inspirations, as well as travel and cultural influences. Oceanic inspirations will also prevail in new worldly and fluorescent forms.
There is a large focus on technology and data as well, which links with the wire coiling that holds the necklace together.

Baby Clothing Creations

Yesterday I began my first attempt at making baby clothing.
Still a way to go, the aim of this garment is to be a waist coat for a little boy.
I've recently heard from new mums that they struggle to find nice clothing for there baby boys. So I wanted to make this present for a family friend with that extra bit of cute detail.
